Clinics

Breast Screening – our female patients eligible for screening will be called at appropriate review dates.  If you are already known to the mammogram service and have missed your appointment or are over 70 and wish to continue with screening, please call direct on 02476 967178.

Cardiovascular Screening – e.g. Hypertension/high cholesterol – blood pressure testing is required at least every 6 months, unless otherwise advised by clinical staff.

Cervical Smear Tests - it is advisable that all women between the ages of 24years & 6 months – 49 years have a cervical smear test every three years, whilst those between 50-64 years have a cervical smear test every five years.  An appointment is required with the Practice Nurse for this screening test.

Child Health Surveillance/Immunisations – available by appointment with the Practice Nurse. 

Chronic Disease Management – (e.g. Asthma, COPD, Diabetes, Hypertension, CHD etc) – Clinics available by appointment with the Practice Nurse.

Family Planning - appointment with GP or the Practice Nurse. For some long-acting contraception treatments, you may be referred to a local family planning centre.

Phlebotomy - patients will be required to attend the George Eliot Hospital (during path lab opening hours) or via Bedworth Health Centre (appointment only) for blood tests. Tel: 02476 313391.

Smoking Cessation - assists patients to stop smoking.  Available by appointment with the Practice Nurse and/or GP.

Health checks

A general health check are available as follows:

NHS Health check

  • aged 40-74 (no other conditions, every 5 years)
  • Well Woman
  • Well Man
  • aged 75 and over (who has not seen a GP in the last year)

General checks will be carried out as follows:

Blood pressure, blood tests (as appropriate), Height and Weight, Lifestyle advice, Tetanus status.

Non-NHS services

Most procedures, consultations and services carried out at this surgery are paid for by the NHS.  However, where additional services are provided, we are required to pass on the specific cost to patients.  The type of additional, non-NHS funded services most frequently requested include:

  • insurance forms
  • holiday cancellation forms, medical reports
  • CAB letters/housing support letters
  • fitness to travel certificates
  • private prescriptions
  • HGV/Taxi Medicals
  • some vaccination services

Our fees for these services, which are in line with BMA approved national guidelines, are displayed in the surgery. 

Travel Vaccinations

Our surgery does not provide holiday vaccinations, please contact your local travel clinic or Pharmacist for further assistance.
